Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Pavel Datsyuk's tying goal with 46.4 seconds to play in regulation kept alive Detroit's chances at home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs, but only for a few minutes. Patrick Kane scored the only goal of the shootout to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 3-2 win over the Red Wings in the regular-season finale for both playoff-bound teams at Joe Louis Arena. Chicago (45-26-11) needed a regulation win to claim the fifth seed in the playoffs and nearly pulled it off, but will instead be the sixth seed with 101 points. The Blackhawks' will face the Pacific Division champion Phoenix Coyotes, who topped the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. The Red Wings (48-28-6), meanwhile, will be the fifth seed with 102 points and will face Nashville in the first round. The Predators, though, will have home ice advantage in that Western Conference quarterfinal.

Final Score: San Jose 3, Los Angeles 2 (OT)

San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - Dan Boyle scored the game-winning goal at 3:58 of overtime, sending the San Jose Sharks to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings in the final game of the NHL regular season on Saturday at HP Pavilion. Boyle started the eventual scoring play on the rush, sending a left-wing feed to Martin Havlat. Boyle drove hard to the net and got the puck back on the end of a give-and-go before backhanding it over the shoulder of Kings netminder Jonathan Quick for the winner. The Sharks secured the seventh seed in the Western Conference and will face the No. 2 seeded St. Louis Blues in the first round. Boyle also scored in regulation and Havlat ended with two assists, while Patrick Marleau also lit the lamp for the Sharks (43-29-10) who ended the regular campaign on a four-game winning streak. Justin Williams had a goal and an assist, while Mike Richards also scored for the Kings, who dropped three of their final four games. Final Score: Vancouver 3, Edmonton 0

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Roberto Luongo needed to make just 17 stops to record his fifth shutout of the season and the Vancouver Canucks captured their second consecutive Presidents' Trophy with a 3-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers in the regular-season finale for both teams. The Canucks needed just one point to clinch after the New York Rangers lost to Washington on Saturday. Henrik Sedin, Samuel Pahlsson and David Booth scored for Vancouver (51-22-9), which finished the season on a roll, winning eight of their final nine games. As the Western Conference's No. 1 seed, the Canucks will face either Los Angeles or San Jose when the first round of the playoffs gets underway next week. Devan Dubnyk gave up all three tallies on 42 shots in defeat for the Oilers (32-40-10), who closed the season on a three-game skid.

Boston erased a 3-1 deficit in the third period with goals from Tyler Seguin -- his second of the game -- and Brad Marchand 2:25 apart. In the shootout, Bergeron, whose second helper gave him 400 career points, stickhandled and slipped the puck through the legs of Buffalo's Jhonas Enroth. Tim Thomas made 25 saves for Boston (49-29-4), which will host the seventh-seeded Washington Capitals in the first round of the playoffs. Brad Boyes matched Seguin with two goals and Jason Pominville added the other Buffalo (39-32-11) tally. Enroth turned aside 37 shots in just his third appearance since mid-January. Marc- Andre Fleury started, but played 32 minutes and allowed one goal on 15 shots. Brent Johnson subbed from there and stopped five shots. Brayden Schenn and Jaromir Jagr tallied for the Flyers (47-26-9), whose five- game win streak in their rivals' new home rink came to an end. St. Louis finished the year with 109 points, and is the second- seed heading into the playoffs after the Vancouver Canucks topped the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday to capture the President's Trophy. Richard Bachman stopped 32 shots in the loss.

Final Score: Nashville 6, Colorado 1

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Their playoff spot already set, the Nashville Predators still came out and took care of business. David Legwand, Craig Smith, Patric Hornqvist, Roman Josi, Brandon Yip and Matt Halischuk had the goals and Anders Lindback made 34 saves in two-plus periods. Nashville locked up the Western Conference's No. 4 seed earlier Saturday after Detroit lost in a shootout to Chicago. The Predators and Red Wings split the six-game regular season series. Matt Duchene scored for the Avs, who lost six of their last seven to miss the playoffs for the third time in four seasons. Jean-Sebastien Giguere gave up six goals on 29 shots.

Final Score: Phoenix 4, Minnesota 1

St. Paul, MN (Sports Network) - Taylor Pyatt tallied twice and Mike Smith stopped 23 shots as the Phoenix Coyotes clinched their first-ever division title and the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference playoffs with a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild.
